Elk Grove Police along with Sacramento Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement agencies arrested 19 individuals this afternoon in what can be best described as a major pot house bust.

The warrants were executed at 20 dwellings, 17 of which operated as growing locations. All seven of the Elk Grove houses where warrants were served are in the northern portion of the city bound by Sheldon Road to the south, Calvine Road to the north, Elk Grove-Florin Road to the east and Highway 99 to the west.

According to Elk Grove Police, the bust netted 6,000 marijuana plants, 180 pounds of processed marijuana and $70,000 in cash. The operation was supported by the Central Valley High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (CALMET-HIDTA), Yolo Narcotics Enforcement Task Force (YONET), Yuba-Sutter Narcotic Enforcement Team (NET5) and Department of Justice: Firearms.

Sacramento Municipal Utility District and Sacramento Child Protective services also provided secondary support. In addition to the arresting and placing the 19 individuals in custody at the Sacramento County Jail, nine children ages one to 15 were placed in protective custody.
