Armed Gunman Posing as SMUD Workers Robs Elk Grove Woman in Her House

A man posing as a SMUD worker gained entry to a house and conducted an armed robbery last night in Elk Grove.

According to police reports, the 55-year old female victim answered the door to her house on the 7600 block of Glebain Way just after 9:30 last night. An unknown man said he was from SMUD and gained entry to the house.

Once the suspect entered, he brandished a handgun and demanded money. After the victim complied and gave him an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The suspect was described as a white male adult, 40's, with brown hair, a small mustache, white t-shirt and khaki shorts. The victim was not injured and responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.
