Road Closures Planned for Elk Grove's Western Festival Parade

To accommodate this weekend's 57th annual Elk Grove Western Festival and parade, several road closures are planned for this Saturday morning. 

The parade – which begins in Old Town and makes its way to Elk Grove Regional Park – will feature everything from classic cars and bands, to floats and horses. The parade begins at 10 a.m. 

The following street closures will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 3: 

• Elk Grove Boulevard from Emerald Oak Drive to Kent Street will be closed in both directions. 
• Westbound traffic on Elk Grove Boulevard between Kent Street and Waterman Road will be closed. Eastbound Elk Grove Boulevard will remain open. 
• Vehicles traveling southbound on Elk Grove Florin Road approaching Elk Grove Boulevard will be diverted back onto northbound Elk Grove Florin Road. 
• Vehicles traveling northbound on Elk Grove Florin Road approaching Elk Grove Boulevard will be diverted back onto southbound Elk Grove Florin Road. 
• Vehicles traveling eastbound on Valley Oak Drive approaching Emerald Oak Drive will be diverted back onto westbound Valley Oak Drive. 
• Valley Oak Drive at Elk Grove Florin Road will be closed to westbound traffic.
