Two women were robbed as they were making a late night deposit at an Elk Grove bank.

According to Elk Grove Police, the 44-year old and 61-year old victims were making a deposit at the Wells Fargo branch on West Stockton Boulevard Friday night when they were approached by an unknown male. The robber pulled the bag from the 61-year old victim's hand and pushed the other victim.

The suspect ran to an awaiting car at the rear of the bank and fled westbound on Laguna Boulevard. The robber was described as a black male adult, 25-30 years of age wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans.

Elk Grove Thriving!

The crimes seem to be picking up in number and they haven't even built the 3,600 units of low income and very low income housing project units.

Is anyone else concerned armed robberies are up 30% from last year in Elk Grove? According to Elk Grove PD there were 45 armed robberies from Jan-Jun in 2013 VS 58 this year.

This is exactly why I have a CCW permit. There have been way to many issues with home invasions, incidents like this. We have to many scum walking around on the streets today and we need something to put them in check. If an armed robber gets shot, it might make the next guy really think hard before he/she tries it. I really hope I don't have to shot one of these scums but I will if it means I get to go home to my family.
