An alleged domestic violence event than included a stand-off with police ended without incident on Sunday morning.

According to Elk Grove Police, 27-year old Andrew Schmidt of Elk Grove was involved in an argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. During the confrontation, Schmidt allegedly threatened and chased his victim out of the residence wielding a knife.

When responding officers attempted to contact Schmidt while inside the residence, he did not comply with instructions and refused to leave. After a one hour stand-off, the suspect came out and was arrested without incident.

Schmidt is in custody at the county jail and is being held on a $50,000 bail.
