A Sacramento man suspected of drunk driving was arrested last night after he allegedly led Elk Grove Police on a short vehicle pursuit.

Just before 9 p.m. police officers attempted to contact 30-year old Ariel Benjamin Miranda of Sacramento who was occupying a vehicle that was blocking the bike lane near Elk Grove Boulevard and Stone Lake Drive on the city's west side. When officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop, Miranda allegedly drove away from officers.

A one-half mile pursuit ensued before Miranda pulled over. The suspect was detained and displayed objective signs of impairment.

Miranda was arrested on suspicion of attempting to evade officers and DUI charges. He was booked into the county jail but was released earlier today on bail.
