A suspected shoplifter pointed a handgun at a Walmart store employee late last night in Elk Grove.

Around 10:30 p.m. an employee at the Bruceville Road Walmart saw an unknown suspect leaving the store with a shopping basket of merchandise without paying. When the employee confronted the suspect, the suspect pulled out a handgun.

After not giving further pursuit of the confrontation, the employee observed the suspect take a few items out of the cart and was seen getting into the passenger seat of a gray SUV that fled the area. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult, 5’7”, 150 lbs., wearing a white t-shirt and tan shorts.
