November 29, 2016 |

A North Carolina man was arrested yesterday afternoon on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon.

On Monday, November 28, 31-year old Timothy Barr of Cary, N.C. was operating a vehicle near Sheldon and Bruceville roads that was stopped for a code violation. Upon contact, the strong odor of marijuana emanated from inside the vehicle.

Barr was detained and a K-9 search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a loaded handgun inside a backpack. The suspect was arrested for penal code 25400(A)(1), possession of a concealed weapon, booked into the county jail, and has been released on bail.
