Man Shot, Injured in Elk Grove's East Franklin Neighborhood Gun Fire Exchange

A man was shot and injured in an altercation that included the exchange of gunshots at an Elk Grove house party during the early hours of Sunday, November 13.

Shortly after 2:30 a.m. Elk Grove Police responded to several calls regarding gunshots fired in the area of the 5300 block of White Lotus Way in the City's East Franklin neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers located physical evidence that a shooting had taken place outside. 

Shortly after officers arrived, the victim, an adult male, arrived at a local area hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. During the course of the investigation, officers determined that there was some type of altercation inside a home where a party was taking place. 

The individuals involved in the altercation went outside the residence when there there was an exchange of gun fire. During that exchange, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to his leg and was transported to a local area hospital by a private vehicle. 

The victim was treated and later released. Three to four vehicles were also struck by gunfire and there is no additional information at this time in the ongoing investigation.
