Elk Grove Bank Robbed, Police Seek to Identify Suspect

Elk Grove Police are investigating a bank robbery that occurred this afternoon.

At approximately 1:59 p.m., the suspect pictured above entered the Chase Bank on 8725 Elk Grove Boulevard and gave a teller a note demanding money. After the teller complied, the suspect exited the bank with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen walking westbound from the location.  

There is no report of the suspect displaying a firearm during the robbery.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, approximately 50, 5’8”, weighing approximately 210 lbs. wearing a dark colored baseball cap with a camouflage brim, sunglasses, a blue puffy jacket with a multi-colored checkered shirt underneath, and had a short gray beard. 

On March 20 another Elk Grove bank was robbed by a suspect with a different physical description. As with this incident, in that robbery the robber did not display a firearm.   

Anyone with information regarding this robbery is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).  Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.  Tips can also be sent to EGPD via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
