Validated members of the Norteno gang allegedly led Stockton Police on a short late afternoon vehicle pursuit.

On Saturday, May 21, Stockton Police attempted to stop a vehicle near Cordova Lane and Lincoln Road in the Lakeview district. The vehicle failed to yield and led officers on a five minute, three-mile, slow speed pursuit during which time the occupants threw a firearm out of the vehicle.

The vehicle finally yielded at Hemet and Goya where the occupants were taken into custody without incident. The arrested suspects included Gilbert Elizondo, 24, Cesar Tovar, 25, and Joel Meza, 23, all documented Norteno gang members, and all charged with weapon charges.

Officers also recovered a .40 caliber semi-auto handgun that was thrown from the vehicle.
