In about a three-hour time frame, Elk Grove Police arrested three people on suspicion of impaired driving. The arrests were between 8:40 and 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, June 8. 

In the first incident Sean Fitzgerald, 26, of Sacramento was operating a vehicle that allegedly struck a fixed object on East Stockton Boulevard and Elk Grove-Florin Road. Upon contact by police, the suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

The second arrest came shortly after 11 p.m. after police received a call regarding a person drinking in public on the 8400 block of Crystal Walk Circle. When responding officers arrived, they reportedly found Heather Riggs, 52, of Galt operating a vehicle who allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment, failed a field sobriety test and was arrested.

The day's final drunk driving arrest happened shortly before when midnight police stopped a vehicle near Geneva Pointe Drive and Auberry Drive being driven by Mikiyas Tesfaye, 24, of Sacramento for a code violation. Upon contact Tesfaye allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment, failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody.
