Two suspects who allegedly burglarized Elk Grove businesses were arrested by Elk Grove Police in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 7.

The first incident happened just before 1 a.m. at the Rite Aid store on the 9200 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. Officers responded after receiving notice from a caller they heard the sound of breaking glass.

Responding officers located Michael Weldon, 23, of Stockton, near the broken window. Weldon was reportedly wearing a hooded sweatshirt, mask and had socks on his hands.

A records check revealed Weldon was on probation. The suspect was arrested and is being held on $560,000 bail with an arraignment scheduled for Friday, June 9.

The second arrested occurred at 2:30 a.m. when police responded to a burglar alarm at the Strike bowling alley on Laguna Boulevard. A video surveillance camera revealed the suspect was still inside the facility.

Police officers established a perimeter around the business, made entry, and located Luke Aaron Watson, 23, of Sacramento, and arrested him without incident. Watson was found to be in possession of property belonging to the business.

Watson is being held on $40,000 bail and is scheduled for arraignment on Friday, June 9.
