October 23, 2017 |

A man was threatened and robbed after he attempted to sell merchandise in Elk Grove from an online sales exchange.

On Saturday, October 21, the seller posted a cell phone for sale on the website OfferUp.com and was contacted by the suspect who expressed interest. The seller met the presumed purchaser at 7:30 p.m. on the 10000 block of Bruceville Road.

When they met, the supposed purchaser grabbed the cell phone from the seller and threw it in his vehicle, which was described as a red muscle car. When the victim tried to recover the phone, he stopped when the suspect brandished a knife.

The suspect then fled the area in the car. The suspect was described as a white male adult, in his 20's, 6'2", wearing an orange hat and blue shirt.
