Bera to Hold Town Hall Meeting in Elk Grove

November 14, 2017 |

Congressman Dr. Ami Bera has announced he will hold a town hall meeting this coming weekend in Elk Grove.

Bera, the Elk Grove Democrat representing California's 7th Congressional District, will conduct the meeting at Monterey Trail High School on Saturday, November 18. The school is located at 8661 Power Inn Road, and doors will open at 10 a.m.

According to a press release, Bera will "discuss President Trump’s latest actions, health care, tax reform, and hear directly from constituents on what matters most to Sacramento County."

Bera is now halfway through his third term in what is considered one of the most competitive congressional districts in the country. In all three of his election victories, Bera won by thin margins, although his 2016 defeat of Republican challenger Sacramento County Sheriff Scott Jones widened over previous elections.

Bera is being challenged in next year's primary by Republicans Andrew Grant and Dr. Yona Barash. Bera, considered a moderate, is also being challenged from the left by fellow Democrat and progressive Brad Westmoreland.
