Unknown Suspects Attempt Late Afternoon Carjacking in Elk Grove

A motorist who was stopped at a red light was the victim of what Elk Grove Police described as an attempted carjacking.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 5 at 4:30 p.m. when the motorist was located at the intersection of Bruceville Road and Soaring Oaks Drive in Laguna. An unknown suspect exited a white vehicle that was behind the victim's car and approached the rear driver's side door and tried to open it.

The suspect began yelling at the female driver who feared the safety her young child who was in the car with her. When the light turned green, the victim drove away, and the suspect returned to their vehicle.

The suspect who approached the victim was described as an African American male, 5’8” to 5’9”, 20’s, no shirt, blue jeans. The accomplice who was the driver of the other vehicle was described an African American female.
