Probationer Allegedly Caught on Surveillance Camera Vandalizing Elk Grove City Hall

A probationer was arrested after he allegedly vandalized two structures, one of which was the City of Elk Grove.

The suspect, Nathan Paul Barnes, 22 of Elk Grove was caught on a surveillance camera just before 8 a.m. on Monday, February 19 throwing a rock through a window at the city facility at 8400 Laguna Palms Way, which houses the Elk Grove City Council Chambers. After breaking a window, Barnes fled the scene in a vehicle and police officers learned he allegedly vandalized a residence by throwing a rock through a kitchen window.

Barnes was located later in the day, was arrested and booked into the county jail and is held on a $30,000 bail. Arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, February 21.
