New Burger Franchise BurgerIm Expanding in Sacramento Market, Set to Open Elk Grove Location in 2018

May 27, 2018 |

In a signal of American's never-ending love affair with their favorite sandwich - the hamburger - an emerging Southern California-based burger restaurant has announced plans to further expand into the Sacramento metropolitan market. As part of that expansion, BurgerIm will also be opening an outlet in Elk Grove by the end of the year.

With dual headquarters in Encino and Dallas, Texas, BurgerIm was founded in 2008 and has stores open in five states and in development in 15 others. The Sacramento expansion includes the development of six units, one of which is planned for Elk Grove.

BurgerIm, which translates to "many burgers" in Hebrew hopes it offerings will distinguish itself in what is becoming a crowded field. Among its unique features, BurgerIm offers 10 types of burger patty options including lamb, veggie, turkey, falafel, and Waygu. Some stores will also be serving Halal burgers.

Other things distinguishing BurgerIm from its competitors is the patty size - 2.8 ounces. While they do not consider their burgers to be sliders, rather mini-burgers, they are sold in packages of two sandwiches. In a signal they have found a niche, as well as in response to the competition in that restaurant segment, Carl's Jr. has for a limited time been offering discounted burger that they sell as sliders.

In addition to the worldwide fast food brands operating in Elk Grove, BurgerIm will be competing against Inn n' Out, Five Guys, The Habit, and Smash Burgers. The Elk Grove store will be located at 9332 Elk Grove Boulevard, Suite 100 on the city's east side.

Currently, the chain has one store open in Auburn. The Elk Grove-based owner-operator said she hopes to open before the end of the year.
