Illegal marijuana grow houses busted by Elk Grove Police Street Crimes Unit

Detectives from Elk Grove Police Department's Street Crimes Unit served warrants on two alleged grow houses that led to the discovery of hundreds of marijuana plants.

At 7 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, detectives served search warrants on the 5900 block of Laguna Villa Way and the 8700 block of Whitehouse Road. The searches led to the discovery of over 720 plants and 55 pounds of processed marijuana, and the arrests of two suspects, Bin Lin, 32, and Bauguo Lin, 55, both of Elk Grove, who were booked into the county jail.  

Both suspects are not eligible for bail and arraignment will be on Tuesday, November 13.
