Predator sentenced to 25 years to life for sexually assaulting 7-year old child

A man who pled no contest to charges that he sexually assaulted a child was sentenced today at Sacramento Superior Court.

Johnathan Allen Nesmon, 29, received a sentence of 25 years to life in prison by Judge Michael Sweet. On October 18, 2018, Nesmon pled no contest to committing a sex act with a child under the age of 10 and lewd and lascivious touching of a child under the age of 14.

On April 10, 2018, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department received a report about images of Nesmon sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl on his cell phone. When the Sheriff’s Department contacted the victim, she reported that Nesmon had been sexually assaulting her for several years.

Evidence showed that Nesmon assaulted the victim in a number of locations, including a toy store parking lot, a store dressing room and a motel. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s High-Tech Crimes and Child Abuse Unit recovered thousands of child pornography digital images on Nesmon’s devices.
