EGPD's Streets Crime Unit busts 2 Elk Grove pothouses



Elk Grove Police Department's Street Crimes unit raided suspected illegal residential marijuana grow operations and arrested one suspect.

At 7 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, officers served search warrants on residences on the 6700 block of San Tiago Way and the 9800 block of Carico Way. Officers recovered 640 plants and evidence related to illegal marijuana sales.

One suspect, 60-year old Yanzheng Zhu (pictured above) of Elk Grove was arrested and booked into the county jail. Zhu is held on two misdemeanors and one felony charge is not eligible for bail and will be arraigned on Thursday, March 14.
