Juvenile, adult suspects arrested by Elk Grove Police on weapons charges

One juvenile and an adult suspect were arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of ammunition and a loaded firearm.

Just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18 Elk Grove Police officers stopped a vehicle operated by Kameron Siervo Payawal, 22, of Elk Grove on the 9200 block of Elk Grove Boulevard. It was determined that a 16-year old passenger was on probation.

A probation search of the vehicle led to the discovery of ammunition. An additional search of the juvenile's bedroom revealed a loaded firearm with a high capacity magazine.

The juvenile was placed in juvenile hall. Payawal was booked into the county jail on felony weapon charges with a Friday, June 21 arraignment.
