'Skateboard' armed robbery suspect arrested by Elk Grove Police

A man who was primarily identified by his skateboard during an armed robbery has been arrested by Elk Grove Police.

The suspect, identified as Jeffrey Robert LaCalle, 21, of Elk Grove was taken into custody yesterday afternoon. LaCalle allegedly robbed an Elk Grove gas station conveniece in the early morning hours of Monday, July 8 store at gunpoint and used a skateboard to obscure his image on a surveillance camera.  

Police investigators also tied LaCalle with another robbery at the same AM/PM store located on Harbour Pointe Drive.

LaCalle is held on bail of $450,000 for five felony charges including violation of probation. Arraignment is on Friday, July 12.
