Elk Grove man arrested for fleeing scene of collision, spitting in police officer's face




An Elk Grove man was placed in custody after allegedly spitting in the face of an Elk Grove Police officer and fleeing the scene of a collision.

Just after 3 a.m. on Friday, September 20 Javier Acevedo, was involved in a collision and left the scene. Responding Elk Grove Police officers located him a short distance away on the 8400 block of Elk Grove Boulevard.

Upon contact, Acevao allegedly displayed objective signs of impairment, and during their course of the investigation, he spat in the officer’s face. A search of the suspect also led to the discovery of cocaine and indicia related to narcotic sales.
