Joint investigation results in arrest of numerous Norteño gang members, seizure of drugs, guns

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, San Joaquin County District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar, and Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones today announce the arrest of 49 individuals. | 
In a joint press conference this morning, law enforcement officials announced the seizure of 41 firearms, including 8 assault weapons; and the seizure of approximately 25 pounds of drugs, including fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and methamphetamine as part of a takedown of gang members in Stockton.
The joint announcement was made by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra, San Joaquin County District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar, and Stockton Police Chief Eric Jones today announced the arrest of 49 individuals. The members are reputed to be members of the Norteño street gang. 
The arrests are a result of a three-month-long investigation that began in August. The alleged criminal activities included attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, and the possession and sale of firearms.
The names of the alleged gang members and defendants was not immediately released.
