Ly amasses $142,000 for 2020 Elk Grove mayoral race




With his reelection race last than 10 months from now, Elk Grove Mayor Steve Ly raised $142,940 in campaign contributions for the 12 month period ending December 31, 2019.

According to his California Form 460 filed with the Elk Grove City Clerk's office on January 22, Ly received $130,018 in cash and $12,922 and non-cash contributions during 2019. Of that annual total, for the six month period ending December 31, Ly received $63,069 in cash and $9,467 in non-cash contributions. 

Among Ly's largest contributions were the following:
  • California Medical Heart Associates, Fresno - $16,000
  • Willdan Group - $12,500*
  • California Conference Amalgamated Transit Union, Oakland - $12,500
  • Dr. Alvin Cheung, California Northstate University - $9,000
  • Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 447 - $7,500
  • Quang Thai Foods - $5,000
  • Taylor Morrison of California - $5,000
  • Gordon Wong, physician - $3.500
  • Northstate Building Industry Association - $2,500
  • Republic Services - $2,100*
  • Wu and Pan Medical Associates - $1.500
  • Laborers Local 185 Union - $1,000.

Among non-cash contributions, Kamillos Companies gave $8,618 that was described as "fundraising event expenses" on November 22, 2019.

For the year, Ly had expenses of $71,754 and ended the year with $142,739 in cash. Ly has three declared opponents, none who have yet to report financial disclosures.
