Stonelake homeowners association issues statement opposing proposed CNU hospital

Elk Grove District 1 City Councilmember Darren Suen announcing his support for the controversial hospital
project located in the District 1 Stonelake neighborhood. |

Ever since California Northstate University announced plans in December 2018 for its $900 million 400-bed hospital, it has generated considerable opposition. Although there is opposition to the hospital throughout the community based on its proposed location at the existing Stonelake Landing shopping center, the fiercest opposition has come from residents in Elk Grove's Stonelake neighborhood.

Even though Stonelake and Lakeside neighborhood residents formed the group known as NEST - Neighbors Ensuring Stonelake Transparency to battle CNU, the home owner's association for the Stonelake residential has remained silent on the matter. However, yesterday the Stonelake HOA issued a statement formally opposing the construction of the hospital.
