Father & son arrested by Placer County Sheriff' charged with hate crime, assault

Thanks to tips from people seeing information posted on social media, two suspects are in custody following a weekend assault near Colfax.

Roger A. Lillie, 53, and Roger R. Lillie, 25, were taken into custody by Placer County Sheriffs for assaulting a worker on a tree trimming crew on Saturday afternoon. The Lillie's images were captured on video after they allegedly yelled racial epitaphs and attacked the victim.

The Lillie's are held on a bail of $80,000 each and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, hate crime, and conspiracy.
