Hume receives law enforcement employee association endorsement in bid for Sacramento BOS

A Sacramento law enforcement association announced their endorsement of Elk Grove City Councilmember Pat Hume's bid for the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors.

The Sacramento Probation Officers Association announced their endorsement of Hume, who is seeking the District 5 Sacramento Board of Supervisor seat. That seat is currently held by Don Nottoli, who decided early last year not to seek an eighth four-year term.

“Pat Hume has a long and consistent record of standing up for crime victims and ensuring public safety officers have the resources to do a difficult job,” Greg Stuber, President of Sacramento County Probation, said. “He’s earned our support.”

Hume is one of three Elk Grove-based vying for the seat. Other running included Cosumnes Community Services District Director Jaclyn Moreno and former Elk Mayor Steve Ly, who has announced his intentions but has not formally entered the race.

If none of the three candidates receives 50-percent of the vote in the June primary, the top two finishers will have a runoff in the November general election.

“It is an honor [to] earn the endorsement of the Sacramento County Probation Association,” Hume said. “Probation officers are the unsung heroes of our public safety system. They are the ones getting repeat offenders and illegal guns off our streets.”

The State Coalition of Probation Organizations has also endorsed Hume.
