Elk Grove News Podcast - Many unanswered questions, inconsistencies for the Elk Grove Zoo

Next week the Elk Grove City Council will formally approve their pursuit of relocating the Sacramento Zoo.

During their March 23 meeting, Mayor Bobbie Singh-Allen and her four council members will approve a memorandum of understanding, proudly announce the zoo is coming and of course, pat themselves on the back.

But there is a lot of work left, especially as it relates to construction costs before the zoo opens.

Listen Time 12 minutes 15 seconds

The following is Elk Grove city manager Jason Behrmann's presentation on financing arrangements for the zoo.

Listen Time 7 minutes 30 seconds

EGN is leaving out one important revenue source! The Elk Grove Zoo can make big bucks as a Hollywood set for filming movies.

Imagine a remake of Daktari being filmed at the Elk Grove Zoo with Clarence the Cross-Eyed Lion wearing Stanton Optical lenses from the Ridge shopping center!

Or how about Tarzan, King of the Delta Breezes with Cheetah munching on an In N Out burger with animal fries of course!

Or how about Planet of the Apes, The Apes Escape and Take over District 56. While the older apes take over the Senior Center, the younger chimps invade the water park. Better get more chlorine!

Then there is Jurassic Park, The Dinosaurs Stampede Down Kammerer Rd. creating BIG potholes. No crack seal this time!

Or King Kong Goes off on SEPA and climbs the Suburban Propane storage tank. No one is gonna shoot at him now! Who knows, Godzilla might make a cameo appearance.

The possibilities are endless and I look forward to seeing Elk Grove become the second Hollywood! Count me as a YES vote!
