Unidentified body found in Elk Grove creek

On February 3, 2008 at 11:38 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a report of a body floating in a drainage ditch near Iris Meadow Way and Fire Poppy Drive. Officers responded to the location and confirmed that there was a deceased male in the waterway.

The deceased individual appears to be a Caucasian male of unknown age and was not in possession of any identification. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office arrived at the location and took possession of the body. The cause of death has yet to be determined and the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy.
