At least she left the door open

When Juana Perez went shopping at The Home Good Store on Elk Grove Blvd., she probably didn't think she would be arrested. Then again, the 29 year-old mother probably didn't think it unwise to leave her 2 year-old child unattended in her car either.

After several witnesses noticed the unattended child, attempts were made to no avail to locate a guardian. After about 30 minutes, Elk Grove police arrived where they promptly found Perez and arrested her.

Fortunately the kid was unharmed and released to a relative. Child Protective Services was notified.
