Cabbie robbed at gunpoint

Elk Grove resident robs cabbie, money not recovered


Elk Grove resident Donnell Hawthorn was arrested early this morning on suspicion of armed robbery.

After boarding Jagdis Taunk's cab on Mack Road in Sacramento, Hawthorn was driven to to Mandalay Way in Elk Grove. It was here that Hawthorn pointed a gun at Taunk and demanded his money.

After fleeing with the money, Elk Grove police officers located Hawthorne in a nearby residence. That cash and gun were not located.

Hawthorn was arrested and transported to the county jail.
