More pot houses in Elk Grove busted

ELK GROVE, CA – On September 17, 2008, the Elk Grove Police Department along with members of various other law enforcement agencies served several arrest and search warrants in Elk Grove and Sacramento related to marijuana cultivation.

For the past six months, the Elk Grove Police Department Street Crimes Unit has been conducting a long term intensive investigation into a group of individuals responsible for marijuana cultivation. Information from the community led to the investigation in which the Elk Grove Police Department received assistance from the D.E.A. (Drug Enforcement Administration, Sacramento ) and the F.B.I. (Federal Bureau of Investigation, Sacramento Safe Streets Task Force).

Warrants were served at twelve (12) locations yesterday which resulted in the recovery of over 2,000 marijuana plants and twelve (12) arrests. A complete list of locations, number of plants recovered and names of individuals arrested is attached. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Elk Grove Police Department at (916) 478-8114.
