Press release from Elk Grove Police
ELK GROVE, CA – On Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at 3:03 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the area of Elk Grove Boulevard and Waterman Drive. The caller indicated that he was shot at by two men who had exited a silver Pontiac Gram Am, and he was now following the vehicle as it was driving away westbound on Elk Grove Boulevard.
Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle with four male occupants at Elk Grove Florin Road and 2nd Street. Officers conducted an enforcement stop and detained two adults and two juveniles who were occupants in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers located two loaded handguns and identifiable property belonging to individuals other than the detained occupants. The property owners were contacted and found to have been robbery victims in other jurisdictions.
All four suspects were taken into custody. The adult suspects were identified as Sacramento residents Vance Hicks (06-18-1990) and Antwan Anderson (04-12-1990). The two juvenile suspects are both 17 years of age and their identity is not being released due to their age. Due to the ongoing investigation by other jurisdictions, the photos of the adult suspects will not be released at this time.
