Press release from EGPD

ELK GROVE, CA – On October 31, 2008 at 12:05 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a bank robbery that had just occurred at the Bank of America located at 5001 Laguna Boulevard.

Three masked men entered the bank and ordered everyone to the floor. One of the suspects was armed with a handgun. The other two suspects jumped over the counter and took an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency. The suspects then fled in a gray Honda Civic north on Franklin Boulevard. A witness provided a license plate number of the get-away vehicle to police, and responding officers located the Honda Civic unoccupied in the 9100 block of Tinos Way.

A records check revealed that the Honda Civic was a reported stolen vehicle. The suspects apparently switched vehicles at this location and fled in a different vehicle in an unknown direction. The suspects were described as African-American males, wearing masks and dark clothing.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00.
