This evening EGN received the following e-mail message from Christine Brainerd, public information officer for the City of Elk Grove.
The City is in a preliminary phase of researching a potential land acquisition opportunity that was presented to the City of Elk Grove. The City Manager is bringing this item to the Elk Grove City Council for an initial discussion in Closed Session at the June 24 City Council meeting. As always, the Council will update the public with any reportable action following the discussion.

With due respect to Elk Grove's PIO, as Ms. Ford's email states, the agenda indicates the discussion is in regard to "Price and Terms." This would seem to indicate that the decision to purchase the property has already taken place and apparently outside the view of the citizenry. Not ethical or transparent and certainly not cool.
