This is NOT the type of city I envisioned we'd ever become. All that hype about city hood and 'local control' was a bunch of baloney. Our leadership these past several years has been nothing short of 'dogs on leashes' - led down the road to urban sprawl by the developer, a general plan rubber stamped by the likes of PMC and Mr. Phil Carter and their own short sightedness. Some (of us) had great expectations for our community. Things like controlled growth and maintaining the rural integrity, while respecting our historic district. But those in control had a different plan... and it is their plan that we are feeling the effects of today. Add CSD's failure in park management and the prostituting of our local fire department (there is no more Elk Grove Fire Dept!) to save their salary and one only skims the surface to the challenges facing this community and the damage done. How can there even be a thought of expanding our borders?? Any expansion beyond our current border would lead to further disaster of virgin land and enable the for-mentioned failures to multiply.
