Elk Grove Planning Commission to Host Workshop on Maintaining Quality of Life in Elk Grove

The Elk Grove Planning Commission will host an educational workshop this
Thursday to inform the public about issues that affect the quality of life in Elk Grove.

The workshop will be held during the Planning Commission Meeting.

Shane Diller, a city staff member in the Community Enhancement/Code Compliance department will discuss how the city seeks to maintain community standards and address violations of the city’s municipal zoning and housing ordinances.

The discussion will cover:

• Overview of Community Enhancement/Code Compliance Department
• The lifecycle of a service request
• Challenges to enforcement
• Building partnerships with Elk Grove neighborhood representatives
• How residents should address concerns about unsafe, unhealthy or unsightly conditions in their neighborhoods.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 1, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. at the City of Elk Grove Council Chambers, 8400 Laguna Palms Way, Elk Grove. The meeting will also be broadcast on the city's website.
