Davis bows out of three-way race to face Lungren
Elk Grove City Council member Gary Davis has officially announced he will seek reelection to his seat on the Elk Grove City Council in 2010.
Davis posted the following statement on his Facebook page this morning:
Dear Friends,
It is with great enthusiasm and humility that I announce my campaign for reelection to the Elk Grove City Council.
In 2006, Elk Grove soundly voted for change. They wanted a citizen council member - a tireless advocate for good job growth, economic development, strong neighborhoods, reduced crime, and that would put forth a vision for a better Elk Grove. Nearing the end of my first term of office, I am proud to say we have accomplished much. As Mayor and Council Member, I can enthusiastically say we have turned things around and are now heading toward the right path.
I am also proud to announce the support of wide array community leaders from Elk grove and throughout the great Sacramento region.
We have lots more to do. In the coming weeks I will be launching “Elk Grove 20/20” a series of town hall meetings, community discussions, and online dialogues. We will go neighborhood by neighborhood, group by group, business by business, and person by person to develop a 20/20 vision for a stronger Elk Grove.
It is the people of Elk Grove who create the civic infrastructure of our great community and make it strong. It is this strength that gives us great potential. It is this tremendous potential that will enable the City of Elk Grove to become a destination.
I am proud to serve Elk Grove and I humbly ask for the opportunity to continue.

I have emailed Davis several times about several issues and he has never afforded me the courtesy of replying. Go ahead and go to Washington, Mr. Davis...you'll fit right in!
