A popular Elk Grove fast food restaurant was robbed at gunpoint last Wednesday night.

According to Elk Grove Police, an unknown suspect entered the Gordito Burrito restaurant on the 5100 block of Laguna Boulevard and brandished a firearm at two employees. The suspect demanded the employees to open the cash register and the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a Black male in his 20’s, approximately 5’8”, 160 lbs and wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, dark pants with black gloves.

Domestic violence arrest; attempted robbery of teens

In other activity, police report there was one domestic violence incident last Wednesday.

According to police reports, 18-year old Matthew Burke of Elk Grove was in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical confrontation. Burke allegedly struck the victim several times in the face and head causing injury and also attempted to prevent the victim from calling 911.

Officer apprehended the suspect who fled the scene on a bicycle. Burke was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Police also report two Elk Grove teenage males were victims of an attempted robbery early Wednesday morning on Whitelock Parkway near Atkins Drive.

The victims reported they were walking home when a 4-door Honda Civic pulled along side them when six unknown suspects confronted them. One of the suspects described as a Black male demanded personal property and punched one of the victims in the fce.

Both victims were able to flee the area on foot and the suspects fled in the car without obtaining any property.
