Ask any police officer what one of the best ways to prevent crimes is and they will likely say having observant people reporting suspicious activity. That was the case early Wednesday morning as Elk Grove Police officers were able to recover a stolen car.
According to police reports, a neighbor in the 8800 block of Minnie Circle called in a suspicious car early Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, responding officers approached the vehicle and three suspects fled into the neighborhood on foot.
Two suspects get away
Officers began a systematic search of the neighborhood and apprehended one of the three suspects, a 15-year old juvenile male. Officers contacted the registered owners of the car and discovered it had been stolen in Sacramento .
The juvenile was taken into custody and transferred to juvenile hall. Officers were unable to locate the two other suspects following an extensive search.
