Pointing Loaded Gun Gets Elk Grove Man Arrested

An Elk Grove man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly pointed a loaded rifle at his apartment manager.

According to police reports, 48-year old Robert Velarde pointed his loaded rifle at his apartment manager following an authorized inspection of his unit. The incident took place on the 9100 block of Elk Grove Boulevard .

Velarde was arrested and transferred to the county jail.

Domestic violence arrest

Police also report the arrest of an 18 year old Elk Grove man following a domestic violence incident.

According to police reports, Michael Youngblood was involved in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical altercation. Youngblood allegedly grabbed his victim by the throat and attempted to choke the victim.

The victim was able to break free and call police for help. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
