The Elk Grove Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a suspect who is responsible for a burglary at the California Family Fitness located at 8569 Bond Road.
On March 24, 2010 at 3:30 p.m., the suspect gained access into the California Family Fitness facility by presenting himself as a guest with a free pass. Once inside the facility, the suspect made his way to the men’s locker room where he proceeded to break into a locker.
The suspect stole a wallet that contained cash and credit cards. The suspect then went over to a nearby Best Buy electronics store where he used the stolen credit card to purchase a computer.
Surveillance photos from the California Family Fitness location revealed that the suspect was a Black male adult, approximately 30 years of age, 5’10” to 6’1” tall, heavy set (250 to 300 pounds). In one photo, the suspect is wearing a dark colored cap, tan shirt with tan pants, carrying a dark colored gym bag. The other photo shows the suspect in workout attire, which consist of a dark colored cap, multi colored short sleeve shirt with tan shorts (see photos).
Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Detective Bureau at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-HELP (4357). Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Tips can also be sent via SMS text message by entering CRIMES (274637) on a cell phone, followed by Tip732 (agency identification number) and the message.
