The sobriety and license checkpoint conducted Saturday night by The Elk Grove Police resulted to several DUI arrests and various other citations.
According to Officer Christopher Trim, a total of eight DUI arrests were made at the checkpoint that was conducted on Elk Grove Boulevard just west of Elk Grove-Florin Road.
Of the 802 vehicles screened after 8:00 pm, officers issued four suspended license citations, eight suspended license driver citations, 38 miscellaneous vehicle code violations citations and towed 11vehicles.

So, 1% of our drivers have suspended licenses...not just expired licenses, but suspended. 1% were impaired, too.
With 6-8 DUI arrests, you might also think that these checkpoints would "pay" for themselves from the fines these citizens will soon be shelling out. Seems we ought to be conducting more of them if they are revenue neutral, eh?
