The Walgreen’s store on the corner of Laguna Boulevard and Franklin Boulevard is seeking to obtain a Type 20 alcohol license for the sale of off-site beer and wine.

The matter will be heard at the Wednesday, June 9 Elk Grove City Council meeting. In recent months Walgreen’s has begun selling beer and wine at several of their Sacramento area outlets.

In early 2009 the store was robbed twice in a three week period. This store is not one of the nationwide chains’ 24-hour operations.

Rite Aid has about the cheapest beer around -- and we're not talking about malt liquor and Tamiroff.

Seeing how there are no Rite Aid's near me, this will do!
