Suspected Drunk Driver Arrested in Elk Grove Wal-Mart Restroom after Vehicle Pursuit

A Livermore man was arrested in the restroom of the Elk Grove Wal-Mart after he tried evading a DUI enforcement checkpoint on Saturday night.

According to Elk Grove police reports, officers were monitoring a DUI checkpoint on Laguna Boulevard just west of Big Horn Road when they heard loud crash. Officers determined that a Toyota SUV had made a u-turn, hit a street sign and was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes.

As the vehicle drove away, officers attempted top stop the vehicle. The driver failed to yield to officers and took them on a short pursuit south on Highway 99.

The driver exited Elk Grove Boulevard when officers briefly lost sight of the vehicle. The unoccupied vehicle was the located in the Wal-Mart parking lot.

Officers checked the store and located the suspected driver, 30-year old Christian Kehoe in the men’s restroom. The suspect was arrested and transferred to the county jail.
