On Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11:18 p.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to an emergency call from the Holiday Inn Express located in the 9100 block of W. Stockton Blvd. regarding a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers were told that a shooting had taken place on the first floor of the hotel. As officers began searching for the shooting victim on the first floor, information was obtained that the victim was now on the third floor.
The Sacramento County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 18-year old D'Andre Blackwell, a resident of Sacramento.
Officers proceeded to the third floor and Blackwell victim lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency medical personnel arrived and determine that the was deceased.

Based on information gathered from guests at the hotel, there was some type of “hotel party” taking place on several floors of the establishment. There were several groups of teenaged men circulating inside the hotel travelling between floors. Apparently the victim and some friends were confronted by a large group of unidentified males on the first floor.
During this confrontation, an argument ensued and the victim was shot in the chest by an unidentified African-American male. After the shooting, the suspect and the others who were present fled from the hotel in several different directions.

Callers to Crime Alert can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.00. Is this shocking to anyone??? I used to think that ELk Grove was becoming SOuth Sac. It's frrling more and more like OAKLAND every day!!!
This city has become a cesspool due to all the low income housing and ghetto people from the Bay Area.
