A Casino Night benefiting the Elk Grove Food Bank will be held tonight at the Strikes Bowling in Elk Grove.
Hosting the event will be Elk Grove Mayor Steve Detrick and Vice Mayor Jim Cooper. There will also be several celebrity dealers including former boxer Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, Good Day Sacramento Host Nick Toma, former football players Ronnie Cruz and Rick Jennings, Cosumnes Community Services District President Michelle Orrock, Elk Grove City Manager Laura Gill, Elk Grove Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Angela Perry, Fox 40 Sportscaster Mark Dempsey and News10 Morning Anchor Dan Elliott.
Registration is at 6:45 p.m. and is only $25. There will also be raffle prizes galore donated from local businesses throughout Elk Grove and Sacramento, along with generous sponsorships from community partners. “The entire community and beyond is coming together to benefit the food bank, Cooper said. “We couldn’t be more pleased.”
The charity event is sponsored by the Elk Grove Community Connection (EGCC).
Donation entrance includes Elk Grove City Council member Gary Davis’ Award Winning Chili. “The Inaugural Mayoral Casino Night is just like my award winning chili: Great ingredients, a tad of spice, and made for a good cause! I am excited to participate,” said Davis.
Net proceeds will benefit Elk Grove Food Bank Services. The food bank’s services include the Food Closet, Clothes Closet, and Support Works.
