An Elk Grove payday lender store was held up yesterday morning by two armed gunmen.

Yesterday morning at 9:44 a.m.  an employee at Advance America Cash Advance arrived at work and began walking towards the front entrance. As she walked towards the business, she saw two individuals sweeping the parking and the front walk area of the business.

As the employee unlocked and opened the front door, the two subjects who had been sweeping the parking lot approached her and displayed handguns. The suspects ordered the employee to enter the business and turn off the alarm.

Once inside, the suspects proceeded to remove an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the safe and cash drawers.  While the robbery was taking place, another employee arrived and was confronted by the suspects as she entered the business.

Both suspects were then ordered into a restroom in the back of the business and both suspects then fled the location on foot and were last seen running out of the parking lot. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspects and the two employees were not injured.

The first suspect was described as African-American male adult, in his late twenties, six feet tall (6’0”), one hundred and eighty pounds (180 lbs). He was wearing a dark colored knit cap, sunglasses and had the lower part of his face was covered with a dark bandana with a white dust mask over that.  He was also wearing a gray long sleeve flannel shirt with a white t-shirt, dark blue pants and his hands were covered with gardening type gloves.  He was armed with a large silver semi-automatic handgun.
